Not so nice of a week ahead

Whereas this past week was fairly nice temperature-wise, that will not be the case as we start off  this coming week. A storm system heading up the Ohio Valley late Sunday will usher in some very cold air compared to what we have experienced recently. Temperatures Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will "smack us in the face" as daytime highs will hang  out in the upper 30s and lower 40s. And, yes, we will likely see flurries and snow showers.  The good news is that this cold air outbreak will be short-lived. By Thursday we will begin to warm up again and as we head into Easter weekend temperatures will rebound into the 50s. Spring is like this you know...wild temperatures swings and weird weather patterns.

Looks like a typical February week

Looks like a typical February week is coming up for us. Temperature will be up and down as will the weather....snow then rain, then snow. Of note will be a mid-week storm system that will pull out of the midwest and likely head up through lower Michigan giving us a warm day Wednesday followed by a much colder day Thursday. We saw a similar pattern last week although I don't think we will get quite as warm the day before the cold front passes as we did last week. No 50s this week...just 40s.

Whew!

It looks like our early predictions are going to be realized. Unless our next storm system really pulls a fast on one us, the "big" storm early in the week is going to head up the east coast. For us that means not much in the way of snowfall...probably an inch or so late Monday and Tuesday. That's a good thing because we are running out places to put the snow we already have. I cringe every time I pull out onto the highway because I can't see around the snow piles to see if anybody is coming down the road to hit me.  So far so good. :-)

If you plan to travel to the east on Monday or Tuesday you may need to check ahead because there could be some weather delays along the coast and in New England.

Another big storm next week?

Looks like another big winter storm is brewing for early next week.  The storm will form in the southwest, move to the Gulf coast states, then zip up the east coast. What this means for us will be determined by the exact track of the storm. I mean, this thing could produce another major snowfall and possibly blizzard or near blizzard conditions in Pennsylvania and New York State. At the moment, it appears that we will be on the west edge of the storm meaning some snow and some wind, but the bulk of the nasty weather should be off to our east, but stay tuned! Last weekend's storm looked like it wasn't gonna be that big of a deal either and we ended up with a foot of snow!
