A few days of "summer"

I say...the beginning of this week is going to be very nice, especially Tuesday. Most of the weather on the map will be down to our south or off to our north. They are welcome to it!

Clouds will be over the area on Monday, but Tuesday is looking like a great day...lots of sunshine and temperatures in the mid 60s!

However, as you might expect this time of year, it will be short-lived. While temps on Wednesday will be warm, cooler air is on the way and it's back to the 40s on Thursday and Friday. But, hey, the 40s. We've had worse...only a couple of weeks ago.  ;-)

Enjoy!

March is a good month

Well, here we are in March. March is a good month because not only do we turn the clocks ahead and get more daylight, we also gain about 10 degrees in our average daily high temperatures.

While this week won't be as warm as last week, it will be more seasonal. With the exception of Thursday and Friday (which will be the coldest days of the week) temperatures should reach the 40s and occasionally the 50s every day. I can live with that.

Enjoy!

It's coming...warmer temps are on the way!

Finally I can see a break from this crazy January-like weather. All we need to do is get to Wednesday and then the rest of the week looks so much better.  On Wednesday HIGH pressure will slide to our east giving us a southerly wind flow. Temperatures will finally go above freezing. and then, for the next 6 or 7 days, daytime highs will be it he 40s and 50s. Woo! Hoo!

BTW...just a heads up...this Saturday night (2am Sunday, March 8) we turn our clocks AHEAD one hour. That means more daylight in the evening.

Hang in there!

OK...I'm ready for sunshine and warm temperatures

This is the time of year that I really start to get tired of Winter.  I mean seriously. Come on already...go away!

We should be seeing daytime highs in the upper 30s.  It's been awhile since we've been there. The bright spot in the forecast is that it looks like Wednesday we should recover to normal. Woo! Hoo! That should last for about 3 days until we cool down again.  However it does appear that daily highs should be mostly above freezing (at times not by much) for the week after this...that would be the 1st week of March.

Slowly we shall dig our way out of this.

Till then, stay warm!

Looks like a typical February week

Looks like a typical February week is coming up for us. Temperature will be up and down as will the weather....snow then rain, then snow. Of note will be a mid-week storm system that will pull out of the midwest and likely head up through lower Michigan giving us a warm day Wednesday followed by a much colder day Thursday. We saw a similar pattern last week although I don't think we will get quite as warm the day before the cold front passes as we did last week. No 50s this week...just 40s.

A smack in the face

Yeah, well today was a smack in the face back to reality. I really enjoyed that touch of Spring earlier in the week, but here we go, back to February-type weather. The good news is that while some overnight temperatures will dip back to the very cold levels, daytime highs will at least be near or slightly above freezing.  I  still see a period of below normal temperatures for the rest of the week and the weekend (normal highs should by in the upper 30s), but at least it's not going to be "January cold!"

The January thaw a few weeks late

Ah...it felt so good (psychologically) to wake up Sunday morning and see the green grass. OK, so it was muddy green, but at least it was reassuring to know that the grass was still there. I had begun to wonder if we would ever see it again.  LOL

So, just for fun, I went back and checked the official records for the month of January and the first week of February. You know what? It really was as cold as it seemed in January. Going into this weekend, we had only 10 days so far this year when the temperature made it above freezing. But, alas, things are changing.

This upcoming week is looking pretty good. Monday will be a tad cool, but then we'll warm up again on Tuesday and Wednesday, then cool down a bit on Thursday and Friday. The normal daytime high should be in the upper 30s so at least we are getting back on track...and the sun is shining again, too!

Enjoy!
