Back to Fall

The "on-again-of-again" summer pattern will continue this week. After a very summer-like week last week, this upcoming week is going to be fall-ish.

LOW pressure will move to our north and then settle down near Toronto for a few days. (See graphic) The result will be another cloudy, damp, cool pattern. The LOW will produce lots of clouds over NE Ohio along with occasional showers. It's not going to be days upon days of rain, although rain will be in the forecast most days. Instead you will just see periods of showers from time to time.

As for temperatures, they will be cool. Our normal daytime highs should be in the lower 80s. Ain't gonna happen this week. In fact, midweek daytime highs will be hard pressed to reach 70. Yeah, so daytime highs in the upper 60s are possible Tuesday and Wednesday. If you don't like long, hot summers, you gotta be lovin' this one. LOL

Enjoy!

This is better

After 3" of rain in three days last week (Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday), we are finally going to dry out a bit this week. HIGH pressure will hold over the Lower Great Lakes and that will bless us with sunshine and near normal temperatures.

As we head into the later part of the week, we will see a change again, as the jet stream dips a bit to the south once more (see graphic). This will trigger a few a showers and thunderstorms around Thursday, but it doesn't look like it will be nearly as wet as last week.

Enjoy the first week of summer!

A cool week

Looks like a cool week is on tap for the region. Temperatures this week will be in the low to mid 70s most days. Weatherwise, lots of clouds will about through midweek. A combination warm front/cold front will be hanging around the lower Great Lakes through Wednesday, but the good news is that there is not a lot of moisture around. So rather than heavy downpours, we'll just see occasional showers. All in all, it won't be a bad week...just cool and somewhat cloudy.

The dry spell ends

After nine days of dry weather, we will start to pick up some rain this week.  The last time it rained was on Saturday, May 16th. Looks like we will see a chance of some showers on Tuesday (May 26). If not then more likely on Wednesday.

Over the holiday weekend a stationary front was hanging down to our south along the Ohio River. That kept us in the less humid and mild air. Tuesday that front will move northward. A cool front will approach from the west on Wednesday and then push east of the area on Thursday. Bottom line is that we are going to see a rather active weather pattern this week with periods of rain from time to time.

As for temperatures, they will remain mild in the 70s all week.

Enjoy!

Sunshine and more sunshine

If you like active weather, this will not be your week.  HIGH pressure is going to be the primary influence across the lower Great Lakes pretty much all week.  A cool front will drip toward the northern part of the state midweek, but at this time it looks like it will stall out just north of the area.

Generally, we are going to see nothing but lots of sun with a few clouds from time to time. Add to that gradually warming temperatures and this is going to be a really nice week to get out and do some yard work. (We might even hit 80 on Thursday!)

Enjoy!

Here comes the sun

Finally...after spending a couple of weeks under a blanket of clouds, this week looks to be a bit brighter. HIGH pressure will be a much more dominate influence than it was last week.

At the moment, it does look like some showers and thunderstorms will rumble through late Wednesday and into Thursday, but the first part of the week looks to be dry.

Temperatures will start off on the cool side, especially at night, but then will warm up nicely around midweek as the jet stream hangs to our north leaving us on the warmer south side.

All that being said, unless you like clouds and showers, I think you'll like this week much more than last.

Enjoy!

Big warm-up coming

"Oh, yeah!"
"Here we go with a touch of summer!"
"I like what I'm seeing!"

A warm front is going to push through the state once we get rid of that upper level LOW that's been plaguing us the early part of this week. The showers and the clouds will finally pull out of eastern Ohio on Wednesday night setting us up for sunny days beginning Thursday and continuing into Sunday.

The big news, however, is going to be the daytime highs. We'll see a modest warming on Thursday, then a big spike into the 70s for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  We should cool back into the 60s the first part of next week.

So, get out the summer attire and enjoy the upcoming weekend!
