Today was the hottest day of the summer...and it's September!

Here at the 88.9/Weather Center we topped out at 95 degrees at 2:53pm.

As expected, record temperatures were set cross the state.

From the National Weather Service in Cleveland:

...Record high temperatures set at Cleveland...Akron Canton...Toledo
and Mansfield...

At 317 PM...the temperature at Cleveland Hopkins Airport reached 96
degrees. This sets a new record high for this date. The old record
was 93 degrees set in 1964.

At 309 PM...the temperature at Toledo Express Airport reached
96 degrees. This sets a new record high for this date. The old
record was 95 degrees set in 1983.

At 316 PM...the temperature at Mansfield lahm Airport reached
94 degrees. This sets a new record high for this date. The old
record was 93 degrees set in 1964.

At 307 PM...the temperature at the Akron Canton Airport reached
93 degrees. This ties the old record of 93 degrees set in
1983...1964 and 1931.

Tomorrow is going to be hot once again, but not quite as hot as today. We will still see temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90 on Wednesday. Then, much cooler air will arrive for the end of the week.
