The cool with continue this week; A mild, dry Winter?

If you are looking for some really hot weather, head to south Texas. I'm heading down to Austin for a few days. I'm looking at daytime temperatures in the lower 100s. Wow! We haven't even been in the 90s yet this season.

What's on tap locally this week will be temperatures again slightly below the normal of 81-83. The week will start dry (see map) with highs in the upper 70s. Around mid-week slightly warmer air will push into the region and that may trigger some showers for Wednesday. Toward week's end temperatures will be right about normal.

You may have heard a lot of talk this past week about the El Nino winding up out in the Pacific. While this creates a strange variety of weather across some parts of the U.S. as well as the world, the general trend for the lower Great Lakes is for a somewhat dry and mild period from January-March. We'll have to wait and see how strong this thing gets before we know with a bit more certainty what will happen this Winter. But, just so you know, we'll be watching it.
