Mid-November wind and storms

The Storm Prediction Center
has Ohio in a Moderate Risk
category today for severe weather.
Today (Sunday) is going to be a fun day if you like extreme weather.

The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has most of Ohio in a moderate risk category for severe weather today. A strengthening LOW pressure system over the midwest will move toward the upper Great Lakes today and then drag a cold front across Ohio tonight. The LOW will produce strong winds while the approaching cold front triggers thunderstorms, some of which may be severe. The combination of the two will provide us with a windy Sunday and a stormy Sunday night.

The biggest threat of severe weather in our area will be
tonight between 8pm and 2am

During the day today winds will increase to a sustained level of 20-25 mph during the afternoon. After dark, between 8pm and 2am when the cold front is in the area, thunderstorms and much stronger wind gusts will occur. Some wind gusts at this time could exceed 50 mph and cause structural damage, knock down tree branches, and result in power outages.

The colder air will move in behind the front and temperatures tomorrow will be skidding downward and land in the 40s for daytime highs then stay there the remainder of the week.
